Class 2 have had a very good start to the year and they have had a very busy four days. We have been looking at feelings and emotions and we have completed some work relating to the book ‘The Colour Monster’. We had the excitement of having five new fiction books that were wrapped up with clues written on labels to engage the children with trying to guess what the book might be about. Some of the titles we have read are ‘The Library Lion‘, ‘I don’t like books. Never ever. The end.’, ‘There is no dragon in this story‘ and ‘Don’t let the pigeon drive the bus!‘ These will all now be added to our class library area where the children can continue to read and share them. We hope to see many of you join us at our first Key Stage One Library Time event next Friday at 3pm.
The children have also been busy setting their own goals and challenges for the year ahead and we have displayed these in the classroom too. We have made a start in our new handwriting books as presentation will be a big focus across the school this year. We have also had time to squeeze in some artwork and I will post photos when this is fully completed as the children have produced some amazing work. Please do look at our class 2 Seesaw when you get chance as there will usually be daily posts and photographs on there of what we have been up to.
I want to say a big thank-you to all the pupils in class 2 who have settled in really well and have taken all the changes in routines and expectations from year one to year two in their stride. They have been engaged, enthusiastic, polite and caring and I couldn’t have expected more from them. Thank-you to all of the parents, carers and grandparents for your support with this, it really does make a difference.
